MINUTES:
Southwest Gymnastics Support Organization

Meeting Date: August 4, 2010

Call to order: A monthly meeting of the Southwest Gymnastics Support Organization was held at the Southwest Gymnastics Training Center on August 4, 2010. The meeting convened at 5:30 P.M. by Vice-President Kristie Wicklund.

Members in Attendance: Kristie Wicklend, Margaret Pierson, Suzanne Dierks., Kelly Moore, Kathy Berg, Julie Berry, Bernie Miranda, Betsy Long



Board and committee reports:

Leos:
Kristie brought the same team leo to look at. The actual leo will be made of the same material the current team leo is made of and will have ¾ sleeves. “12th Street Costume and Dancewear” is charging us $70 plus 8% sales tax. This is a significant savings over the GK price we paid last year of $180. We will continue to purchase warm-ups from GK. Jackets are about $40 and pants are about $15. Andrew needs to speak with Lisa of GK regarding copyright of the design.

Fry’s Card:

Pictures:
Individual Pictures: Friday August 20 for level 4-5 during practice time
Saturday, August 21st for optionals at 12:30
Team Pictures: Saturday, August 21st for all levels.

Fall Flip:
o Date: October 2nd
o Fees: Due September 10th. Regular gymnast fee is $75 with a late fee of $10.
o Save the Date Cards: Were sent out by Kristie as well as a final flyer. Volunteers were requested to call each of the gyms to confirm that they have received the flyer and attempt to get a verbal confirmation.

o Fasha’s mom
o Buy Out Option: Bernie brought up the possibility of being able to “buyout” your volunteer time. There was an extended discussion about this but no decisions were made other than to discuss this in the future.


Meet Schedule: Julie Berry put together the new meet schedule. It does not include any out of state meets as Andrew would like to wait and see our profit from the Fall Flip before making a decision about the San Diego and/or Las Vegas meets. The due dates for these out of town meets is not until mid December.

USAG Registrations: Are all paid up for all team girls.

ASU Training Camp: Andrew still following up for more information.

Congress: Andrew to leave this coming Tuesday through Sunday. Team schedule to be determined while he is gone.

Team Workout Schedule: Top return to “school schedule” on Monday August 9th (with some adjustments the week Andrew is gone)

Treasurers Report: Julie to go over this next meeting.

Next Meeting: Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 5:30 PM

Last Meeting Minutes: Were approved by Bernie Miranda except for the assessment fees. Further discussion was tabled to next meeting.

Volunteer Clean-up: A day to volunteer to clean the gym prior to Fall Flip was recommended and parents in attendance agreed this was a good idea. To discuss with Andrew and determine what he would like done.
